Meet The “Team Tumbleweeds”

Justin and Jen Schroer
Publishers/Owners

Two days before Mother’s Day 2021, Justin and Jen officially became the owners of Tumbleweeds.  With two toddlers, purchasing the publication was bigger than a sale. Founder, Claudette Sutton passed the torch to the next generation to carry out the Tumbleweeds commitment of being the #1 resource for Northern New Mexico families.

Jen is a C level executive who has a passion for growing local businesses and building community.

Justin is a philanthropic professional who excels at stewarding relationships and connecting resources to community needs.

Tumbleweeds Magazine is an opportunity for the Schroer’s to combine their passion and expertise.  They will continue Claudette’s tradition of producing a treasured local parent resouce, while navigating parenthood themselves.

Claudette Sutton, Editor

Claudette Sutton, Tumbleweeds’ founder and current editor, created Tumbleweeds in 1995, when her little boy was 6 years old. She and her husband, Charles Brunn, and their “little boy” (now 33) live in Santa Fe. She is excited to see her other baby find a new home with Jen and Justin. With her newly-expanding free time she loves to hike, cook, read, do crosswords and study wildflowers, and is working on her second book.

Kristen Cox Roby, Assistant Editor

Assistant editor Kristen Cox Roby moved to Santa Fe in 2017 with her partner and two young children, who are now in preschool and second grade. A journalist since age 16, she loves to explore and write about the local food scene and believes learning about a community’s food, drink and agriculture is one of the best ways to make a place feel like home.

Brittany Espinoza, Sales Executive

Brittany is a lifelong New Mexico resident with a passion for connecting families to local businesses and resources. She and her husband have three children. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking and exploring our beautiful state with her family.

Tara Melton, Marketing & Communications Coordinator

Tara is a native northern New Mexican with a passion for both journalism and helping others. Following a journalism career in southern NM, Tara returned home to work for nonprofits that serve Santa Fe’s children. In her spare time, Tara enjoys adventures with her dog, Marlo.
